Pretty Girl Rock
Here is what I’ve learned as a pretty girl:
Anyone who wants to can own me; I’m a walking snack, I’m open for criticism. I’m supposed to listen to every comment and take it as advice.
I’m yours for the taking; it’s okay to ask me for a date, and I’m supposed to give you whatever you want, because you took the goddamn time out of your day to show me attention, and I should be grateful. Who cares if I don’t want to? I owe you that much.
I belong to whoever gets there first; if my boyfriend isn’t there, he doesn’t lay claim. You’ll listen to him before you ever listen to me. He’s my Princeton pimp after all. I’m selling my body without even realizing it.
I owe you everything I can give; people get offended that you could ever think they’re dangerous, but when I say ‘no’ I’m a bitch and I start to regret not giving a fake number.
Anyone who wants to can own me, but it’s frowned upon to own myself.
I have learned as a pretty girl that frowns are often necessary. I am what is most important to me.
