It can be hard
for people like
us thrown under
the bus of a boys
club paying to
keep rape
in rage and they
gauge our truth
by the roof of
our mouths and
the length of
our legs,
and it’s hard to
speak without
thinking we
might break in
the wake of a
lonely world
made lonelier still
by the will to silence us
into submission so
we make it our mission
to speak up, and out,
to last,
but not just last,
live,
and not just live,
thrive,
and I feel most alive when
I’m listening to you,
all of you
we are not things,
we are a we,
and I hear you.
